Mary, a patient at Hospice Compassus in Casa Grande, expressed her wish to renew her wedding vows on her wedding anniversary. Social Workers and one of our staff Chaplains, arranged for the vows to be blessed and a nuptial setting was created on our patio and dining room. The wedding was complete with wedding cake, music and flowers; and the groom “danced” with the bride in her wheelchair, as their favorite song, “Please Save the Last Dance for Me” played on a CD. This happy bride died peacefully a few days later at Hospice House.
